I’m Kate Turtiainen / Webber, owner and creator of Bay ActivePT. Bay Active PT represents a way of life that has come over various life decisions that I have made, which I not only love to share with my clients but all the people who surround me.
Training, exercise, fitness, diets for me, isn’t about how I look to others it is about being able to do the things that I want when I want, with no restriction due to my body. Whether it be pulling over and climbing a tree because it looks like a good time or picking up my dirt bike after I crash. These things empower me every day and in turn build my self-esteem. Which every person needs if they wish to survive in today’s society.
I won’t lie in an industry like mine, I haven’t always felt this way... but I learnt early on that I would rather take each day with both hands and hold on tight for the ride.. Rather than miss the ride altogether because I am to pre-occupied weighting myself and my snacks before I leave for the day. My approach is pretty simple when summarised. Eat clean, eat well and exercise in a way that makes you smile every day. Training isn't always going to be easy, but it should be fun majority of the time.
My training didn't start back in 2009 when I was in Sydney becoming a Master Trainer. It started when I was kid playing netball, basketball, dancing, swimming and horse riding. Each of these experiences have trained me in various ways mind, body and spirit and if we are honest one doesn't work without the other. Have you ever seriously injured and yourself and noticed that because your body isn’t working so neither will your head space? I feel compelled to share my knowledge of how people can improve their mind and body through movement. It’s not about the biggest lift you can do it is about how well you can make yourself feel.
The long and the short of it is fitness is simple. It all boils sown to frequency and intensity but the hard bit is getting the mind and body to play together and that is what I am hear to help you with. So let’s teach you how to make exercise fun not a chore and practice listening to your body and what it is trying to tell you. Lets work on your Mind, Body and Spirit!
